How to check PM Kisan status
- Go to pmkisan.gov.in and open Know Your Status.
- Enter your registration number. If you do not have it, use Know your registration number with your mobile number or Aadhaar.
- Enter the captcha and the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
- The page lists every instalment paid, and flags any pending step: eKYC, land seeding, or Aadhaar–bank linking.
The village-wise beneficiary list is under Beneficiary List on the same site. For help, call the PM Kisan helpline, 155261 or 011-24300606.
Who is eligible, and who is not
Any farmer family that owns cultivable land in its name, as recorded by the state, can apply. A family means husband, wife and minor children; only one member receives the money. Not eligible:
- institutional landholders;
- families with a present or former constitutional post holder, Union or state minister, MP, MLA, mayor or district panchayat chairperson;
- serving or retired officers and employees of central or state governments, PSUs and local bodies (multi-tasking staff and Group D are eligible);
- retired pensioners receiving ₹10,000 a month or more (again except Group D);
- anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year;
- registered doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects in practice.
How to apply and complete eKYC
Register on pmkisan.gov.in under New Farmer Registration, through the PM Kisan app, or at a Common Service Centre, with your Aadhaar, mobile number, bank account and land record details. The state verifies the land record before payments begin.
eKYC is compulsory and can be done three ways: an OTP on the portal, biometrics at a Common Service Centre, or face authentication in the PM Kisan app. Your bank account must be linked to Aadhaar and enabled for direct benefit transfer; a post office (India Post Payments Bank) account opened with Aadhaar works too.
Why payments stop, and how to fix them
- eKYC pending: complete it by any of the three methods above.
- Land seeding “No”: contact your tehsil or agriculture office to verify your land record.
- Aadhaar not linked to the bank account: link it at your bank, or open an India Post Payments Bank account.
- Name mismatch: correct the name to match Aadhaar under Update / Edit on the portal or at a CSC.
Once fixed, pending instalments are usually paid with the next release.
Frequently asked questions
When was the last PM Kisan instalment released?
The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026, when ₹18,880 crore went to 9.44 crore farmers. Each eligible farmer family received ₹2,000.
When will the next PM Kisan instalment come?
The 24th instalment is for the August–November 2026 period. The government had not announced its date when we last checked on 6 October 2026; we will update this page when it does.
How do I check my PM Kisan status?
On pmkisan.gov.in, open “Know Your Status”, enter your registration number (use “Know your registration number” with your mobile or Aadhaar if you do not have it) and the OTP sent to your mobile. The page shows each instalment paid and any problem with eKYC, land records or your bank account.
Why did I not receive my PM Kisan instalment?
The usual reasons are incomplete eKYC, land records not verified (seeded) by the state, the bank account not linked to Aadhaar for direct benefit transfer, or a mismatch in name between Aadhaar and the application. The status page shows which one applies.
Is eKYC compulsory for PM Kisan?
Yes. It can be done with an OTP on the PM Kisan portal, with biometrics at a Common Service Centre, or by face authentication in the PM Kisan mobile app.
Who is not eligible for PM Kisan?
Institutional landholders, and farmer families in which anyone is or was a constitutional post holder, minister, MP, MLA or mayor; a serving or retired government employee (except Group D / multi-tasking staff); a pensioner getting ₹10,000 a month or more; an income tax payer; or a registered doctor, engineer, lawyer, chartered accountant or architect.
Can both husband and wife get PM Kisan?
No. The benefit is per family (husband, wife and minor children), so only one member can receive it, even if both own land.
