Savings and deposits
Government small savings schemes currently pay more than most bank FDs: the post office 5-year time deposit earns 7.5% against about 6.5% at the largest banks. See every scheme on the post office interest rates page, or compare bank FD rates.
Loans
Home, car and personal loan rates follow RBI's repo rate, now 5.25%. Read how it affects your EMI on the repo rate page, and plan repayments with the EMI calculator or the home loan prepayment calculator.
